Festival committee members are happy to announce the entertainment lineup for 2015:

Friday, Sept. 18, 2015:

  • Traveling Danburys – 6 – 7:45 p.m.
  • Humble Hooligans – 8:15 – 10 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015:

  • Gray School of Dance – 1-1:45 p.m.
  • Ale Hounds – 2-3:45 p.m.
  • Gray School of Dance – 4 – 5 p.m.
  • Celtic Cross Pipe & Drums – 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Jeff Conlon & Americelt – 6:30-8:15 p.m.

2015 Irish Festival Will Be September 18-20 at the Ives Center in Danbury

This year in 2015 we are happy to announce we are having a three day Irish Festival on the beautiful grounds of the Charles Ives Center for the Arts, 43 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury, Conn., September 18th, 19th, and 20th.

The Festival has been a Tradition for over 20 years and we are happy to have it back at the Ives Center. Please check back soon for more info on bands, entertainment, vendors and more!

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Children of all ages! The famous Ringling Brothers clowns from the Greatest Show on Earth are coming to the Greater Danbury Irish Fesitval!!!

Clowns from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® presents DRAGONS! We need Southern Connecticut’s help to find the Dragon who laid a Dragon Egg.

(Bridgeport, CT October 2, 2013) – Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey presents DRAGONS is coming to Bridgeport for shows playing Oct. 23 – 27. Some special performers will be here from Thurs, Oct. 3 through Sat. Oct. 5. The Dragon Seeker, Sir Arthur Adventure and a Ringling Bros.® clown, Rob Lok will present.

People seeing Dragon Seeker and the egg will be encouraged to take pictures and post or send them using social media. We hope to have many Dragon Seeker helpers in Southern Connecticut over the next few days. During the performances later in October at Webster Bank Arena, the audience will all be encouraged to demonstrate that they each have STRENGTH, WISDOM, COURAGE and HEART, and then the Dragon will appear!

Sat., Oct. 5 from 2:15 – 3:45 p.m. – The Dragon Seeker and Dragon Egg will make an appearance and interact with families attending the Irish Festival 6 Lake Avenue, Danbury at the Cultural Center.

The Countdown is On!

The countdown is on for the 2013 Greater Danbury Irish Festival! In less than one week we will kick up our heels, tip our hats and raise a glass to celebrate all things Irish. From beer to bagpipes, dancing to Donegal, from corned beef to Ceili, we have a weekend jam-packed with activities and events for families of all ages.

The Greater Danbury Irish Festival has brought traditional Irish culture for many years through music, art, food and dance.  This year we are proud to host our annual event on the grounds of the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) and look forward to sharing this special event with members of our community.

On October 4th, 5th and 6th, 2013,  we are hosting the festival at our club located at 6 Lake Avenue in Danbury. For three days, attendees will enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of Ireland as the GDICC welcomes artists and musicians to the festival.

Children and families will enjoy special activities such as sand art, face painting and arts and crafts and CLOWNS! THat’s right. The Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Clowns will be at the festival for a very special performance Saturday, October 5th at 2:00p.m.  Following their performance, Gilleoghan Irish Dancers will kick up their heels and show you all the traditional dances of the Emerald Isle.
